Ways to donate to RCFS

The simplest of all ways to support RCFS financially is to write us a check. This can be a one-time gift, or you may choose to donate to us on a quarterly, semi-annual, or annual basis.  All financial support is welcomed and sincerely appreciated.
Another relatively simple way to support RCFS is to make a direct transfer of an existing asset, such as stocks, bonds, or real estate. This can be a one-time gift, or you may choose to donate to us on a quarterly, semi-annual, or annual basis.  All direct support is welcomed and sincerely appreciated.
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a third-party entity set up to manage the charitable donations of individuals, families, and/or organizations. The donor gives the money to the fund rather than giving directly to a charity. The money is subsequently doled out to charity by the DAF.
Workplace giving is an easy and efficient way to make tax-deductible donations to the charities you care about. Your donation can be deducted automatically from your paycheck (or whatever payment method you select) for a specified period, and that money will then be distributed to the charity(ies) you have designated.
Some employers will offer to match your contributions up to a specified amount. This leverages your employer’s philanthropic support and maximizes your gift to the causes you care about.
In-kind donations are any non-cash gift of goods or services that your organization receives from donors. The IRS considers in-kind donations to be a contribution, and the value of the donation is generally considered as its market value. The IRS allows you to deduct the fair market value of property donated. Only donations to registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits are eligible for a deduction.
Bequests are one of the simplest, most impactful, and most popular ways to make a planned gift. To make a charitable bequest, a donor has to allocate a portion of their estate to a nonprofit in their legal will. They are usually allocated in three ways:
    • A specific amount of cash (e.g., $10,000);
    • A percentage of the donor’s total estate (e.g., 10% of an estate of $1 million would be $100,000 to charity); or
    • The remaining value of the estate after all other bequests have been paid.
Bequests are a great option for everyone as they don’t cost a donor anything during their lifetime.
